Creative Producing

As a creative producer and project manager, I am passionate about supporting artists and institutions working in experimental performance, music, dance, theatre, visual art, socially engaged work, community and public projects, and equity and engagement initiatives. I work with individual artists as well as with organizations at all stages and across all facets of a project’s development, including:

  • creative ideation, research, writing, and residencies

  • curatorial and dramaturgical advising

  • grant writing/reporting, fundraising, and donor relations

  • budgeting, expense tracking, and fiscal sponsorship liaising

  • communications, outreach, and advocacy

  • community engagement and public programming

  • exhibition and presentation

  • touring and mobilization

  • targeted outreach

  • institutional relations and negotiations

I welcome inquiries, the opportunity to learn about a new artist or project, and to explore what might be possible or feels aligned. Please note that I prefer to work dynamically on a project-specific basis across multiple organizations and individuals. I do not function as a personal manager for a single artist.

Curating

I am a seasoned curator in contemporary and experimental visual art, performance, dance, theatre, opera, sound art & music, film & video, and interdisciplinary forms. I have curated exhibitions, performances, and public programs within nonprofit institutions, in collaboration with partners, and independently. Prior to establishing an independent practice, I was an Artistic Director & Curator with Portland Institute for Contemporary Art in Portland, Oregon from 2017-2023. Please see Work & Projects for a selective overview.

In addition to curatorial essays and statements, I write occasionally for arts-based and hybrid journals and publications. In 2024, I self-published a chapbook called Dead Best Friends and am working on a related experimental book and archival project about death and friendship.

Consulting

I am open to short- or long-term consulting and contract-based work for nonprofit arts, educational, and cultural organizations or for individual artists and creative workers. Depending on a client’s needs and my own capacity, services might include research; program evaluation; creative advising; project and program planning; writing and editing; workshop facilitation; grant writing, proofreading, and reporting; program assessment and evaluation; and more. The majority of my work must be remote/virtual, but I am often able to travel as schedule and timeline allows.
